For 25 tireless years, Bob Baltaxe was a forester at the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), a division of the United Nations. Bob had invested his time and energies in helping fill in the gap between the third world and developed nations, by helping better harness natural resources. His work has had a lasting positive impact in many struggling nations in North Africa, Middle East and Middle Asia. Bob Baltaxe passed away peacefully at his home in Cambridge, England, after a short but serious illness, with his son Peter by his side, on Dec 30, 2003. This foundation, started by Bob's other son, David Baltaxe, hopes to honor Bob's efforts by recognizing others who dedicate their lives to bettering others'. Our focus is on gifting scholarships and charitable donations to non-profit organizations that carry on the causes of eliminating world hunger, bettering the environment and creating world peace. We are a private organization with no government support, funded exclusively by our own investment club. |
